The construction of the case of this expensive watch is really complex: the exterior is a proprietary carbon-fiber composite called CarboStratum which begins as 100 sheets of carbon fiber, which are then heated and compressed in a mold to form randomly layered strata of material. The case also increases in size at the horizontal axis and diminishes at the vertical, giving it a somewhat oblate profile.
