With this new creation, Greubel Forsey‘s GMT Earth is a modern watch that provides an amazing 360° view of our planet Earth all the way from the North to the South Pole. The timepiece‘s technical feat was achieved by an original movement architecture in relation to the case shape and dimensions. Revealing a unique design and a complex application of sapphire crystal, a skill which Greubel Forsey has acquired over many years of research and utilization: also, the three-dimensionality first appears at the highest point of the dial, with the hour, minute and small seconds indications.
GMT MOUVEMENT 5N
This timepiece marks a first for both Greubel Forsey and the history of GMT watches. After exploring, inventing, and developing new mechanisms in the world of the Tourbillon over the last decade, the high-end brand has combined it with a new complication, the GMT, which they have naturally interpreted in their own way with this luxury watch.
GMT QUADRUPLE TOURBILLON
In bringing the Quadruple Tourbillon and the GMT mechanisms together, Greubel Forsey not only accomplished a major technical feat that led to the creation of a new hand-wound caliber comprising 805 parts, including three fast-rotating barrels. This timepiece with modern design features a three-dimensional approach that is expressed on many levels. The case back also provides a chance to admire the Quadruple Tourbillon as well as frosted bridges with jewels set in gold chatons. As one of the most iconic masterpieces by Greubel Forsey, this luxury watch presents two complex asymmetrical convex sapphire crystals protecting the dial and case back also called for the utmost expertise.
The display side of the GMT Sport timepiece presents classic Greubel Forsey architecture, an open, orchestrated theatre between suspended bridges, semi-apparent wheels, and floating dials in three dimensions. Combined with the inventive cage inclination, significantly improves chronometric performance in a single-tourbillon system, with minimal movement height, this timepiece is a symbol of legibility and efficiency.
