Louis Vuitton’s most recent luxury watch features a dial cut from an ancient meteorite: the Louis Vuitton Escale Spin Time Meteorite timepiece offers a playful take on time-telling with a million-years-old Namibian meteorite dial and it is the perfect craftsmanship piece to fit your luxury lifestyle.
Patented and produced entirely at Louis Vuitton, the luxury brand’s Geneva-based Haute horology workshop, the modern design of this latest addition to the Escale Spin Time collection comes in a 41 mm case composed of titanium with satin-finished black PVD and an 18-karat pink gold bezel.
The modern watch’s automatic movement is the same one that appears in the Escale Spin Time 41. The time-telling cubes in that 2018 model feature the high-end brand’s nautical pennant motifs. These timepieces are descended from the original Spin Time model, whose five-minute regatta countdown mechanism was created by La Fabrique du Temps watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini. The dial is set with 12 cubes featuring different variations of the Louis Vuitton motif that spin independently to mark the passage of time. The Escale Spin Time Météorite marks the first time Louis Vuitton has used the cosmic material.
This unique design concept puts a bouncy spin on technical innovation. Its top-flight mechanics are powered by the LV77 caliber automatic movement, which boasts a 40-hour power reserve. Its dial is carved out of the Gibeon meteorite that landed in Namibia: a mystical material has never before been used by Louis Vuitton. It brings a majestic splendor to the modern watch’s two-tone styling, highlighting the vivid sparkle of golden touches on the central minute hand and on the cubes that show the hours.
This marvelous and striking timepiece is made by the fragility of the friable stone, and it takes a rare degree of skill and innovative craftsmanship.
