Winner of three Global Awards at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards (Global Restaurant of the Year 2017, Luxury Unique Experience, and Luxury Resort Restaurant), the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is a modern and exclusive restaurant located five meters below the surface of the Indian Ocean. As an internationally applauded restaurant, it is also the world’s first undersea restaurant, which offers 180° panoramic views of the vibrant coral gardens surrounding it.
“It seemed the perfect idea to build a restaurant where diners can experience fine cuisine and take time to enjoy the views without ever getting their feet wet.”
General Manager Carsten Schieck
The Ithaa Undersea Restaurant ‘s fine cuisine offers a true pleasure and features a characteristic menu showcasing local spices and produce, blended with Western influences, presented in a six-course set dinner menu and a four-course lunch menu featuring lighter fare. Also, the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is defined and recognized as the “Mother of Pearl” in the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, which is accented by the use of curved transparent acrylic walls, similar to those used in aquarium attractions.
Highly popular but relatively small, the modern restaurant can host only exclusive 14 guests at a time. Inside this space, you can inspire your senses, with panoramic coral garden views and fusion menus matched with fine wines. Ithaa Undersea Restaurant can be reserved for private dining, weddings and special occasions. The set lunch and dinner menus, matched with a wine concept, showcase local flavors blended with Western influences. The luxury restaurant is also open for mid-morning cocktails.
Notorious for being “the most beautiful restaurant in the world” by the New York Daily News in 2014, you can live a unique experience inside the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, expecting indulgences such as caviar for dinner while the four-course lunch menu offers lighter fare. The world’s first all-glass undersea restaurant can offer to you a truly exclusive and unforgettable experience.
