Patina Maldives is a luxury resort in Male within the Fari Islands with a collection of stunning overwater villas in the Maldives with the best sunset views. Opened on June 2021, Patina Maldives, Fari Islands is the inaugural flagship property from sophisticated new lifestyle brand Patina Hotels & Resorts, the latest hospitality concept by Capella Hotel Group. The luxurious hotel of unique and radiant character offers 90 contemporary one- to three-bedroom Beach and Water Pool Villas, alongside 20 Fari Studios, all of which embody a harmony of sanctuary and stimulation.
“We wanted to create a place where one could enjoy the comfort and privacy nested by the stunning nature, but also experience art and meet interesting people. Patina Maldives provides an opportunity to be together in isolation. It embraces our natural conflicts: desire for peace and party; for nature and design; technology and rusticity; self-indulgence and deep reflections; barefoot and high heels.”
says architect Renata Furlanetto, who collaborated with Kogan on the property.

Each of the private villa sanctuaries is honed from nature’s materials and pure creativity to soothe the senses and soul of the guests. The interior of the water and the land villas is almost exactly the same – sensual lighting, warm tones, lovely textures, and the highest attention to detail, and Maldivian craftsmanship is noticeable everywhere.
Nine Bedrooms, Zero Looky-Loos
For the ultimate privacy, The Beach Collection offers Patina Resort’s largest villa plus six neighboring villas for your entourage. With nine bedrooms, seven pools, and a private beach, you can live like a Kardashian but without all the drama.
Exclusive furniture elevates the in-room experience and caters to the needs of the connected contemporary traveler, from bed frames with integrated control panels to concealed device charging compartments.
Some of these one-bedroom villas have views onto the white sand beach of the lagoon with Fari Marina on the horizon, whilst the others enjoy incredible sunsets, and all boast a lush surrounding of mature, native tropical planting.
The most accessible accommodation is the One Bedroom Beach pool Villa. All rooms come with a personal garden, private 6.2m pool, and oversized outdoor tub. There is one wheelchair-accessible villa available in this category too.
One Bedroom Water pool Villas feature floor-to-ceiling panoramic glazing slides back to open up these luxurious over-water cocoons sitting out above the turquoise ocean at one with our resident marine life.
“In our view, the interiors are always an extension of the architecture, and the Patina project was no exception. We selected and designed furniture and pieces combining shapes and temperatures in a balanced manner. We envisioned a mix of rustic elements and soft surfaces, as well as natural and textured materials together with sharp, clean, and minimal design pieces. A black and slim metallic floor lamp by Flos close to a rattan bench and an organic shape wooden stool, for example.”says Studio MK27’s Pedro Ribeiro, who cultivated the interior design alongside the firm’s Diana Radomysler.
Patina Maldives, Fari Islands is launching forward-thinking sustainability best practices, to reduce energy consumption while also protecting the environment.
