Designed and created by Lazzarini Design Studio, the FD-One is a new concept two-seat flying car with a unique design owned by Ferrari and inspired by Old Ferrari F1 Racers. Featuring a distinctly retro-futurist vibe, the aircraft is, according to the Italian design studio, a tricopter is powered by a hybrid system that contains a V12 petrol engine and six electric engines: four in the front, two in the back. But, if you want to know more about this modern design technological masterpiece, discover more below.
The Ferrari’s vehicle with a modern design can fly by receiving the necessary power directly from the engine or from the batteries. This flying car of the future is overwhelming and is reminiscent of Ferrari‘s model, which won two Formula One World Championship titles 1.
Measuring 24-feet in length and weighing 1984 lbs, the FD-One’s carbon fiber really does look like a futurist take on Ferrari’s nearly 70-year-old racers. The wheels have been replaced with three propellers and the rest of the unique design stays true to its ancestor, counting the cockpit, exhaust pipes and racing stripe.
Built by Lazzarini Design Studio, this flying vehicle concept presents a tech that is just as intriguing as its contemporary design. Developed by six electric engines, the power will also come from three battery packs stored in the craft’s underside. The design studio believes the flying car will be able to reach speeds of 310 mph and fly for three hours at a time. The Ferrari’s FD-One is a concept, but it’s a concept that Lazzarini Design Studio believes can be made into a reality.
The red prototype concept was inspired by a 1950s formula one Ferrari’s curves and geometries, resulting in a modernist and unique design.
