Diogo Carvalho designed the piece in 2011, it is inspired from church organ tubes as well as the curves of violon. We can see the designer’s passions: music and metalwork.
There are only eight of twenty Symphony Sideboard’s in existence, all of which are spread out in different continents. The cabinet is made from exotic wood finished and is covered by a tubular structure in gold plated brass. The one which will be auctioned was initially bought by Janet Morais, a North American Interior Designer.
One of these 8 models was commissioned for Fifty Shades of Grey blockbuster. We could see the sideboard in Christian Grey’s apartment. It is after the success of the movie, that the interior designer decided to put it in auction.
It will be a great event, where you will see extraordinary and unusual pieces, like Tom Cruis ‘Mission: Impossible’ costume or the crown modeled by Kate Moss for her first photo-shoot.
