Bespoke travelling and experience’s trends include pop-up hotels, bespoke itineraries, once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences and “braincations” at the moment. Globetrotters will look for “experiential travel”, taking a tour through the less traveled roads.
The idea that mobile, pop-up hotel experiences and other services only exist in great hotels and other urban properties is dissipating. Travellers can now choose glamping tents, mobile shipping containers and pods. Belgium company Sleeping Around converts 6-meter sea containers into self-contained luxury hotel rooms complete with a box-spring bed, rain shower, iPod docking station and air conditioning.
The Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts’ Imagination Initiative is taking its clients do such experiences as elephant riding through the jungles of Thailand or a VIP on-field meet-and-greet with the International Polo Club, in Palm Beach. Also the Marriott and Renaissance Caribbean & Mexico Resorts stretched its offer with new tech-free zones for those craving a “braincation”.
If you were taken to such adventures, which one would you prefer?
